Tomalin promoted to head of Emap²

Emap has made Rob Tomalin, head of strategy at full-service marketing communications team, Emap², head of the 80-strong division.

Tomalin takes over from Carrie Barker, Emap’s former magazine sales director who set up Emap² a year ago and who last month became managing director of Emap Australia.
Barker’s previous roles are now divided between Tomalin and Jason Trout, who became magazine sales director in January, leaving a vacancy for a digital sales director.
Emap² promotes the media owner’s reach into specific demographics, such as young men and music fans, rather than specific brands.
Tomalin wants to do more work with fast-moving consumer goods companies, building on a recent partnership with Masterfoods’ confectionery brand Skittles.
