24/7 Real Media will manage the online advertising sales across the site, as well as creating sponsorship "solutions" for advertisers, including ad formats on its homepage.
The sales team at 24/7 Real Media will be targeting sponsorships from the entertainment and gaming industry, FMCG brands, music producers, film producers and games and consoles manufacturers.
Marius O'Reilly, commercial manager at CD WOW!, said he wanted the brand to work "closely with advertisers, to offer them suitable solutions for their brand, harnessing the power of the web and the online audiences CD WOW! can deliver".
24/7 Real Media UK head of business development Steve Dorey added: "We have created new opportunities on CD WOW! for advertisers looking for more than just banner advertising. The sponsorship packages we are putting in place are designed to allow advertisers to create a bespoke environment for their brands."
CD WOW! operates in 13 international markets and has three million members in Europe. The site has more than one million products. The retailer claims it is set to become the first online retailer to cut the price on all new release chart CDs this autumn. This will be supported with a £1m TV campaign. As well as display sales representation, 24/7 Real Media provides ad serving, targeting, tracking and search services.
