JCDecaux gets Forth One airport deal

Scottish radio station Forth One has taken over the baggage reclaim area at Edinburgh International Airport in a campaign with JCDecaux.

The ads will run for a year and include wall and column wraps, cardboard cut-outs of the presenters dressed as airline staff and branding of baggage reclaim belts.

Messages address residents of the Scottish capital and surrounding area by playing on the emotional aspect of returning home, with a mix of established straplines and new slogans such as "Welcome to the Forth One airspace" and "Check in to 97.3 Forth One".

With an annual footfall of 8.2 million, Edinburgh International airport is the second busiest in Scotland and is expected to overtake Glasgow's 8.7 million visitors next year.

JCDecaux Airport marketing director Richard Malton said: "Forth's new campaign communicates with passengers in an ideal location, where mindsets are receptive and re-awakened, and they have time to take in the messages that elicit a feel-good factor."
