Vizeum and Diffiniti sign up 'digital evangelist'

Media agency Vizeum and sister digital agency Diffiniti have completed their search for a "digital evangelist" and have appointed Agency Republic media account director Emma Batchelor.

A key part of her new role will be to educate Vizeum's clients about branding in online advertising.

Last week, Diffiniti managing director Robert Horler revealed exclusively to Media Week that the Aegis-owned pairing were working together to recruit a "digital evangelist" who would work with Diffiniti to get a complete knowledge of all of its offerings.

Batchelor will sit within Vizeum to make clients aware of what they can do in digital marketing. Both Horler and Vizeum joint managing director Grant Millar worked together to recruit Batchelor, who is currently responsible for the O2 account at Agency Republic.

Horler said, at the time, the new recruit will "fuel digital knowledge within Vizeum. The more clients know about it, the more comfortable they engage in dialogue at a strategic planning level, the better the client feels". The evangelist will "spend a huge amount of time here before they start and after they've started, they're job will be to take it back up through the line".

Agency Republic is the Omnicom-owned full-service agency that, as well at O2, works with clients including BBC, BT, Blockbuster, Dunlop and Oxfam. Vizeum recently won the £10m UK account for Pernod Ricard. It also holds the accounts for clients including Heinz, HP Foods, Rolls Royce, Eurostar and Paramount.
