IPG agency hit by Aviva loss

Interpublic Group agency Brand Connection faces an uncertain future after more than two thirds of its annual billings were effectively hit in a single day, with the loss of the £64m Norwich Union account to OMD UK, as part of the £75m Aviva pitch.

The agency said that it was "too early" to discuss any strategy or new business plan following the loss. Brand Connection, had held the business for 21 years.

Richard Britton, managing director at Brand Connection, said:

"It is rare these days for a business relationship to last as long.

"But we part as business friends, looking back with pride and looking forward to change."

Vizeum also lost the £11m RAC account in the Aviva review.
