Haymarket Group has announced that David Fraser, the group finance director, will retire at the end of 2004. He joined Haymarket in 1968 as financial controller and, the following year, was appointed group finance director. He is also deputy chairman and finance director of Haymarket Publishing Group, the main operating company.

Creative branding consultancy Maiow has recruited Rob Isaacs  as brand strategy director and Steve Johnston as senior creative. Isaacs joins from The Ingram Partnership where, as senior strategist, he was responsible for brand communications plans for clients B&Q, the COI and Hoselock.

Johnston joins the creative team having worked as design director for Attik in its Sydney office where he was responsible for visual output for design, Internet and broadcast.

Xbridge has appointed Stuart Aplin, the former senior business development manager of CharcolOnline and Bradford & Bingley, to manage relationships with its existing online portal partnership network.

Gina Stansfield has joined PHD Compass (Manchester) as an account manager. Stansfield was previously at MediaCom. In addition, Victoria McManus and Karen Light have been promoted to senior account managers.

Blendon Communications Ltd, the publishing and exhibition-organising company, has appointed former Clarion Events marketing manager, Claire Jones, to lead its exhibition marketing team. Jones has also worked for the Daily Mail Group.

Carat has promoted Krane Jeffrey from sponsorship executive to sponsorship manager. Jeffrey was responsible for project managing Renault’s Scenic Days Out AFP campaign.

Pavilion, the North West’s digitally focused, integrated communications agency based in Wilmslow, has announced the appointment of Andrew Thomas, former managing director of McCann-i and Universal McCann, as managing director.
