Alliance & Leicester banks on Carat

Alliance & Leicester has appointed Carat Direct Communications to handle its £7.5m press planning and buying account.

The incumbent agency, MediaVest Manchester, has retained the £8m television account, bringing the total Alliance & Leicester billings including inserts, direct marketing and online to £28 million.

Stephen Leonard, Alliance & Leicester director of brand marketing and e-commerce, said: "We have taken a decision to work with agencies that can deliver the optimum performance for each media.

"We are committed to maximising the value from Alliance & Leicester's media expenditure and look forward to working with both agencies."
