Hitachi Europe has announced the appointment of Mark Wilkin as head of brand and communication. Wilkin will be responsible for Hitachi's corporate communications and brand development strategy across the Europe Middle East and Africa region. The role covers all areas of external and internal communications and Wilkin will report into Hitachi Europe's chief executive, Sir Stephen Gormasall.

Search marketing company Ambergreen has recruited James Keehan (pictured), formerly of Espotting, to head up its London office. Keehan has been appointed to expand the office and strengthen Ambergreen's presence in the capital. Keehan's media background includes regional press at Nortchcliffe and the global publisher VNU.

Independent home and car insurance broker the AA has appointed Axa marketing and underwriting director Kevin Sinclair as director of AA Insurance. Sinclair previously headed Axa's personal lines insurance business. He will report to chief executive Tim Parker and his start date has yet to be confirmed. Sinclair is replacing Clare Salmon, who has moved to ITV to take over the role of marketing director.

Dow Jones International, the advertising sales unit for Dow Jones & Company, has announced the promotion of Karen Mullis to the newly created position of managing director, sales and marketing, for EMEA. Mullis will oversee advertising sales across the entire EMEA region for all Dow Jones publications. She will report to John McMenamin, managing director of Dow Jones International, and will continue to be based in London.

Online ad sales and e-mail marketing company Ad 2-one UK has promoted two key members of its management team. Ed Couchman has been promoted to head of sales and Kristy Houtman has been promoted from business development manager to head of business development.
