Simply Brilliant ? £8m account win for agency

Brilliant has scooped its second major piece of business in just over a month, winning the £8m planning and buying account for window blind specialist Hillarys.

The agency took on the account without a formal pitch and the move coincides with the manufacturer's decision expand its media activity nationally across television, regional press, directories, online and magazines.

Until Brilliant's appointment, Hillarys handled its advertising activity in-house.

"We feel that their [Brilliant] retail and director response skills will help us to build Hillarys into a high-profile national brand, in line with our market-leading status," said Hillarys marketing director Fiona Ferguson.

Julian Forgaard, account director at Brilliant, said: "It is a complex and dynamic account and our challenge is to innovatively communicate the Hillarys message across a broad range of integrated media while raising their profile nationally."

Brilliant also recently won the £6m television buying account for the Homeform group and sealed the £2m media business for Midlands-based retailer Floors-2-Go.

"We are on a very big expansion curve, winning business and recruiting new people," said Brilliant chief executive Steve Lane.
