NMI wing on Target as it scoops new business worth £2m

The BBC has narrowed the fight for its media planning and buying account down to a shortlist of three agencies.

Target NMI, the youth specialist media planning and buying arm of the full-service agency New Media Industries, has secured a raft of new business totalling £2m.

As well as retaining the media planning and buying for leading software client Acclaim Entertainment, the agency has also won the media task for DJ Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto Records.

Target fought off competition from Manning Gottlieb Media OMD and Optimedia in a three-way competitive pitch for the Acclaim business.

Target has also won the media accounts for film production companies Romulus Films and Merchant Ivory Films, as well as classical music label Naxos.

On behalf of Naxos, Target  has launched a campaign to promote The Sven-Göran Eriksson Classical Collection, due to be released next week.

Target NMI managing director Rob Wilkerson said: "This
is our first project from Naxos and it's a privilege to have such a ground-breaking classical music company within our portfolio."

Parent company NMI was also behind the creative for Romulus, Merchant Ivory and Naxos, including work for recent film releases Revelation and The Mystic Masseur.
