London gay radio station, Purple Radio, has been saved from extinction by a last-minute merger with UK station Gaydar Radio.
The two stations will continue to operate separate services, and will keep their separate slots on Sky Digital.
Purple Radio will become part of Qsoft Media, and both stations will share the same premises.
"Striking this deal with Gaydar Radio seems the natural way for both companies to move forward and consolidate our position as London's gay radio service," said Purple Radio founder, Twysden Moore."I'm sure all of our many fans and listeners will be relieved to see Purple's future secure with such an ideal partner."
