Global move for Courtier

Courtier: inspirational leader

Managing director of The Media Edge EMEA, Charles Courtier, has been promoted to global CEO, assuming joint responsibility with chairman Beth Gordon.

Courtier's brief will involve sharing overall responsibility for The Media Edge worldwide  with Gordon, pointing to the company's increased attention to global expansion.

Courtier is succeeded by Hans Germeraad, former managing director of specialist internet company Interactive Marketing Partner and partner of the IMP Group AG.

Previously, Germeraad was CEO, Germany and Central Europe, for Carat and was a member of the executive board of Carat International.

Later this year, Courtier will relocate to the  Media Edge global HQ in New York.

Gordon said: "Charles was instrumental in the development of the strategy to launch The Media Edge across the EMEA region and doubled revenues for the region in two years.

"I know that he is an extremely able and inspirational leader and one who is ideally suited to take The Media Edge to the next stage.

"As chairman, I look forward to working with him as the company continues to grow."

Before launching The Media Edge across 37 countries in the EMEA region, Courtier was managing director at Y&R Media in Europe, where he worked with a raft of multi-national clients.
