Fox Kids Play launches on Sky Digital

The Birmingham-based Metro News is to close on January 3. The Trinity Mirror-owned free paper is to be replaced by The Birmingham News in an attempt to regain the confidence of advertisers and attract revenue.

Fox Kids Europe has launched its interactive games channel - Fox Kids Play - on Sky Digital.

A joint venture between FKE and French interactive-TV games company Visiware, the channel will feature games based on Fox content such as Digimon, Power Rangers and Mad Jack the Pirate.

Players will be charged a premium rate to play and the channel will be promoted via Fox Kids UK TV channel, website and Fox Kids publications.

Natalie Tydeman, managing director, online and interactive, FKE, said: "The launch of Fox Kids Play is an exciting new venture for FKE that will enable us to capitalise on our programming assets and an characters in order to generate a new revenue stream. "
