Ant and Dec helped the Record of the Year Show to top viewing figures

ITV1's The Record of the Year, shown last Saturday at 6pm, was watched by 6.1 million, a 33% share. The awards show held high appeal among 16 to 34-year-olds, netting an impressive 48% share.

BBC2 didn't perform so well with I Love Top of the Pops, shown last Saturday at 9.15pm. Only 2.2 million, a 12.2% share, watched Robbie & Co wax lyrical about the show.

BBC1's Saturday night movie - The Jackal, starring Richard Gere with a dodgy Irish accent and Bruce Willis, pulled 6.2 million, a 33.5% share, at 9.30pm.

Last Sunday at 8pm, BBC Sports Personality of the Year netted 7.1 million, a 28.2% share.

ITV1's Cold Feet at 9pm last Sunday was watched by 8.5 million, a 33.6% share. The final episode on Monday also pulled 8.5 million, a 37% share.

On previous Mondays the comedy drama averaged 6.9 million, and was always beaten by Judge John Deed and Dalziel and Pascoe.

On Monday night at 8.30pm, suave Martin Shaw as Judge John Deed, pulled 7.1 million, a respectable 29.5% share.

Channel 5 will be pleased to hear that Top Gear on BBC2 last Monday hooked 1.9 million viewers, an 8% share, at 8.30pm.

On Wednesday, at 7.30pm, ITV1's The Big Match: Champions' League Live was watched by 7.5 million, a 33% share.

The Manchester United match returned a 43% share of ABC1 men's viewing and a 44% share among 16 to 34-year-old men.

Meanwhile, BBC1 was able to capitalize on the available female audience at 7.30pm, when the channel returned a 45% share of women's viewing for This Is Your Life.

Last week's episode of the programme saw Michael Aspel presenting the red book to '80s' singer Paul Young, with an audience of 7.9 million, a 36% share.

Afterward, BBC1 hosted a special episode of The Weakest Link, which saw nine actors who play TV medics battle it out.

The quiz show claimed 6.8 million, a 30% share; it attracted a 37% share of women's viewing and a 38% share of ABC1 women.

Viewers are losing interest in ITV1's The Farmer Wants A Wife. At 9.30pm, last Thursday, only 4.9 million, a disappointing 22.2% share, tuned in.
