Associated plans new travel website

Associated New Media is launching a new website, This is Travel, despite the problems experienced by its online operations this year.

Launching in January, thisistravel.co.uk joins ANM's four existing sites - UK Plus, femail.co.uk, This is London and This is Money. The site will primarily be a research tool offering independent travel advice and information.

As well as drawing on the resources of the Daily Mail, The Mail on Sunday, Evening Standard and Metro, This is Travel will carry exclusive content.

The site will also offer users the ability to book online through partners including the Online Travel Company and Teletext holidays - another Daily Mail & General Trust company.

TravelAds, a database of classified travel advertising, will also feature on the site from April.

Editorial director Ted Verity said: "There isn't currently a UK travel website that helps people decide where to go on holiday, rather than just sell them things. ANM will fill that gap."
