Chrysalis hires Hopkins

Chrysalis Radio has appointed Kerry Hopkins as senior press and PR executive, a new role which will focus on the Chrysalis New Media division’s internet activities. Previously a freelancer, Hopkins last year helped to set up IPR Tech, the technology arm of the IPR. She has also worked at Microsoft and Emap.

BBJ makes promotions

BBJ Media Services has made Simon Bevan and Andy Matthews associate directors of its broadcast department. Previously group heads in the same division, they will report to deputy broadcast director Matthew Platts, and will split the television buying between them. This consolidates their roles and gives them more strategic responsibility. Separately, in BBJ’s planning department, Duncan Salmon has been promoted to account director from senior planner, mainly working on BOL and AOL.

Doe joins Redwood

Redwood has appointed Tamasin Doe as editor of HN Magazine, the style title it produces for Harvey Nichols. Doe comes from Sceneonline.com to replace Anna-Marie Solowij, who has gone freelance. Additionally, Louise McArthur has been promoted to account director of Harvey Nichols, Yellow Pages and Land Rover, while Mike Buckley transfers to the role of advertisement manager from deputy ad manager on the Marks & Spencer Magazine.

Clarkson moves to BBC

BBC Worldwide has appointed Simon Clarkson as head of magazine marketing for the Radio Times, Art and Factual Group. Reporting to the group’s marketing director, Chris Gadsby, Clarkson will be responsible for strategic development of existing and new magazine brands. He was previously marketing manager for breakfast cereals at Jordan Cereals.

Mediamark adds to board

Mediamark has promoted Denise Curtis-Raleigh and Nicky Lane to board level. Curtis-Raleigh and Lane will continue in their existing roles of editorial director and advertising sales director respectively, with additional responsibility for policy decision-making and budgeting.

Emap names new recruits

Following Emap Digital’s appointment of Alistair McLellan as editor-in-chief and general manager of its business-to-business website, Construction Plus, the publisher has recruited three people for the site’s revenue-generation operation. Eric Hersant has been named as sales manager, coming from the role of advertising manager at International Wealth Management. Brandon Harris starts as network sales manager, and Ayman Razek as business development manager, coming from the architectural division of Emap Construct, where he was a key account manager.
