Children’s TV channel Nickelodeon has signed a multi-million dollar global promotional deal for Rugrats with Burger King.
The agreement covers the new Rugrats feature film, Rugrats In Paris – The Movie, which will be released throughout the UK in April 2001. Rugrats, the children’s cartoon owned by Nickelodeon, will be promoted through Burger King marketing activity across television, the internet and on in-restaurant point-of-sale displays.
TV ads are expected to run on the ITV network, Channel 4, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and other satellite channels.
The fast-food giant has decided to increase its media spend for the promotion, following the success of its association with the first Rugrats movie. It is expected that the campaign will be one of the biggest promotion deals ever done in the UK.
The promotional agreement commences in the US. Other international territories will follow, in line with international movie timings.
The global Rugrats/Burger King promotional campaign will run in more than 31 countries across the world, spanning Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific.
