Online jobs cut costs and time

By Poppy Brech

A new online recruitment service for recruiters and job seekers claims that it will revolutionise the traditional recruitment process by reducing the time and money involved.

JobShark.co.uk, which launches this month, is a licensed version of Canada’s largest recruitment site, JobShark.com, which claims to have cut the recruitment cycle from 45 to 16 days.

The service, available initially only to the IT industry will roll out to other sectors including media next year. It consists of patented software which matches an employer’s requirements to the jobseeker’s skills. Employers pay a one-off fee of £575 for access to the software.

Candidates place their CV on the site free of charge and are instantly notified by e-mail of matching

vacancies, which they can then choose to apply for directly.

According to Max Butti, managing director of JobShark.co.uk, the service addresses security concerns of job hunters who may be reluctant to put their CVs online.

“Whether looking for a new job or trying to fill a vacancy, the recruitment process is traditionally time consuming and expensive,” he added. “JobShark.co.uk will make the whole recruitment process more efficient.”
