ESI Media hires CBS Outdoor's Dan Locke

ESI Media, the commercial team responsible for the London Evening Standard and The Independent, has hired CBS Outdoor's Dan Locke as agency group director as part of a restructure ahead of its London Live TV launch.

The restructure, which will take effect by mid-September, will split the ESI Media team, which also sells advertising for The Independent on Sunday and i, into two multi-platform agency units.

Locke, who starts his role in a few months' time, will be the agency group director of one of the units and Matt Batchelor, the former ESI director of commercial strategy, will head up the other.

Both will report to Simon Poole, the incoming group sales director, who will join ESI Media on 10 September.

The two teams will be given different agencies to look after as part of a move to the make the group more of an agency-facing, rather than a product-facing, operation.

Locke will be responsible for looking after agency development, growth and partnerships across all platforms.

At CBS Outdoor, he held the position of the head of agency sales for the past eight years. Prior to this, he was a sponsorship and promotion account director for Emap Advertising.

Jon O'Donnell, the group commercial director at ESI Media, said: "We are about to enter a hugely exciting period as we reshape our business to facilitate stronger agency and client partnerships.

"Having incredibly talented people like Dan join us is instrumental in us realising our ambitions."
