Vauxhall signs six-figure TalkSport sponsorship deal

Vauxhall has signed a significant six-figure deal with UTV Media's TalkSport to sponsor all of the station's home nations football coverage until the end of October.

The Vauxhall sponsorship will start today 14 August for the match between England and Scotland, and features Talksport.com running a homepage takeover with Vauxhall branded content and advertising.

Vauxhall-banded previews of the match will run throughout the day and the station's drivetime show, presented by Alvin Martin and Adrian Durham, will be filmed live from a Vauxhall-branded studio.

Following the English v Scotland friendly, all of TalkSport's coverage of the home nations' 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, including live commentary, interviews and previews, will be Vauxhall branded during the sponsorship period.

Sport magazine, TalkSport's sister publication, will also feature Vauxhall-branded editorial coverage and the TalkSport site will continue to show branded content and advertising for the car manufacture throughout the length of the sponsorship.

Vauxhall is currently the official sponsor of all the home teams and in May, it extended its sponsorship agreements with all the home nation teams until July 2018.

Cheryl Stibbs, the sponsorship marketing manager at Vauxhall, said: "We are very excited about the home nation's football partnership with TalkSport and what better way to kick it off than with the first England versus Scotland game for 14 years?

"The TalkSport activity will be supported via our dedicated national football Twitter and Facebook pages, as we aim to take the fans behind the scenes of international football."

Adam Mills, the sales director at TalkSport, said: "As official partner of the England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales football teams, Vauxhall is the perfect sponsor for our home nations coverage."
