Carat and MEC lead nominations at Media Week Awards 2013

Carat and MEC head the shortlist for this year's Media Week Awards, with 12 and 11 shortlisted entries respectively, including one each in the hotly contested Media Agency of the Year category.

Dentsu-owned Carat and WPP's MEC face competition from Omnicom's M2M and Manning Gottlieb OMD, WPP-owned Maxus Communications UK and the independent agency the7stars, in the Media Agency of the Year category.

Carat and MEC will go head-to-head in another six categories, including Media Innovation, Small Collaboration, Large Collaboration, Data Innovation, Econometrics, and International Campaign. MEC has two entries in both the Small and Large Collaboration categories.

Carat's remaining four shortlisted entries are for Media Creativity, Media Idea-Small, Media Idea-Medium, and Media Idea-Re-launch, while MEC also has shortlisted entries in the Media Idea-Launch and Research Insight categories.

Elsewhere, ITV picked up 10 nominations, MediaCom picked up nine, Channel 4 collected eight and Mindshare UK and PHD were both shortlisted in seven categories.
