Johnson will have responsibility for developing and growing Specific Media’s multi-screen advertiser solutions.
Johnson's hiring follows the arrival of Paul Oronoz as UK country manager last June.
His main focus for 2013 will be to accelerate the growth of Specific Video, Specific Media’s video offering, as well as broadening the company’s so-called "Householding" products, which launched last September and places all connected devices in a house in the same media buy ecosystem.
Oronoz said: "This is a big year for our Specific Video and Householding products and over the past 12 months we have hired several key team leads to focus on these core offerings and look for new ways to innovate our products and services for advertisers."
Prior to joining Specific Media, Johnson was the founder and managing director of Nutshell, an ideas platform for media agencies and publishers, which included WPP, Omnicom, Publicis and independent agencies as major clients.
Before launching Nutshell, he was account group leader at IDS, Virgin Media, working across multiple platforms including TV, VoD, online and sponsorship.Follow @DurraniMix
