Flying the, er...towel
With all the hype surrounding The Sun on Sunday, Bitch thinks it is nice to still see former News international employees flying the flag (or in this case the towel) for the brand. Pictured here is former managing director of thelondonpaper Ian Clark, who currently heads his own project Cambiare Consultants, protecting the sunbeds from those pesky Germans (or actually signaling to his German friend in the audience).
It was taken last month when I competed at the Winter Swimming World Championships 2012 in Latvia. Ladies, form an orderly queue…
Mother of all invention
Bitch needs to remind all you forget-me-nots that its Mother's Day this weekend (so no going out and overdoing it on St Patrick's Day, you naughty bunch), and to mark the occasion she received this innovation from a London-based inventor called Sheridan Simove who has created an interactive billboard in Grafton Way, just off Tottenham Court Road in central London on one of JCDecaux’s sites.
The poster reads, "I love you Mum", and yes Bitch did receive an email from one of the Media Week boys, which read, "it had better not be graffitied with an 'r' after the 'you', as people might get the wrong impression".
They think they’re such wags those boys...
This girl does like the idea behind it though and would like to encourage you boys and girls to take up Mr Simove's offer to get lots of people to take their own photo in front of the billboard and send it to their own mums.
Sound of the Underground
Remaining in the outdoor sector, you media poppets have been showing your talents this week Bitch hears with the final of the Big Charity Busk-Off organised by outdoor specialist CBS Outdoor.
Congratulations go to Hannah Lubin of MediaCom who won the competition raising £1,000 for the agency's charity Cancer Research UK, with a virtuoso performance of Pier Vittorio Monti's Csárdás on violin, the cultured little darling.
Each entrant had a 10-minute slot to impress the judging panel, which was made up of buskers from the London Underground, including Rebecca Lanehart and Wilfy Williams as well as representatives from CBS Outdoor and TfL.
Two finalists were selected for a final busk-off at the Warwick pub (classy) that evening, where the winner was crowned. To watch the video, click here.
Rumours that the CBS Outdoor staffers in the competition were busking to meet the legal bill for the out-of-home company's recent dust up with TfL are, Bitch is assured, entirely unfounded as the two organisations are obviously firm friends now.
Until next time my little skinny dippers.
