The i was the only newspaper in the quality market to improve its circulation month-on-month (up 8.68% on January), helped by a 10% increase in bulk copies to 57,285. This is in-line with its ongoing strategy to switch the number of bulk copies its gives away of the £1 The Independent to the 20p i.

The move has helped i achieve a month-on-month increase of more than 5% to 207,147, up 23% year-on-year, while The Independent fell 10% to 105,160.

The impact of The Sun's launch on the Sunday market was officially confirmed in today's audited figures, despite being criticised as 'flat and not particularly interesting', by Evgeny Lebedev earlier in the week.
