Lione, nee Spencer-Hayes, is now responsible for all commercial activities that fall under the Brand Republic portfolio, which also includes BrandRepublic.com, Event, MediaWeek.co.uk and Revolution.

Lione's appointment follows changes to the group's commercial management team over the past two months, which included the departure of publishing director Rachael Stilwell.

Lione said: "I am delighted to be taking on an expanded role within a group that I already know and love, especially at a time that sees so much opportunity for the growth and development of our market leading brands."

Lione has worked at Haymarket Media Group for eight years, and will now report into Richard Watts, the recently appointed Group Publishing Director of the Brand Republic Group.

Watts, who up until recently was running Haymarket's large public sector portfolio, said: "Lisa Lione will provide strong leadership to our commercial activities and ensure we continue our collaborative working relationships with our clients, which will allow us to grow our market leading position."
