The restructure will see a number of key executives across its regional division – which includes the Manchester Evening News, Liverpool Daily Post and Birmingham Post titles – take up new roles.

Additionally 20 new digital roles have been created as Trinity Mirror increases its emphasis on digital publishing.

Steve Anderson-Dixon, previously managing director of its Midlands division, has been appointed managing director for Trinity Mirror's publishing businesses in the North West, Manchester, and North and South Wales.

Simon Edgley, previously managing director of Trinity Mirror South, has been appointed managing director for the publishing businesses in the South, Midlands and North East.

Sara Wilde, who previously presided over the North West and Wales, has been appointed managing director, commercial, of Trinity Mirror regionals.

David Higgerson has had his digital role extended and now has the newly-created role of digital publishing director.

Phil Machray, in addition to his role as chief operating officer, has been appointed managing director digital marketing services.

All the roles will report directly to Georgina Harvey, managing director, Trinity Mirror regionals.

As a result of the restructure, Mark Dickinson, business development director, is leaving the business.
