I have worked in the media since...
Forever it seems. I started selling recruitment space on Logistics titles in 1998. If that counts as media, then 13 years ago.

I was attracted to this particular role because...
Of a few key factors. First was the opportunity of being on the ground floor of a start-up operation and really starting something from scratch. Second, and this is related to the first point, was the energy, enthusiasm and persuasion of our founder Cameron and the trust he has placed in me. Some may say blind trust.

Not many people know that...
Wholphins exist.

My worst experience in the media was...
Being involved in a redundancy process

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt in the media industry it’s...
That things change and evolve so quickly that you should never stand still.

The best bit of media business I have been involved in was
The establishment of this one stands way above anything I’ve been involved in previously.

The one thing I can’t stand in media is...
It's tendency to focus on and reward the inane. I'm jabbing my finger at reality TV and the cult of celebrity here.

Outside of work I spend my time...
With my two kids and the special lady friend, and cycling in the early hours.

If I could do it all over again I would...
Have travelled more and maybe worked in another country for a while.

The one event I would never miss is...
My birthday.

If money were no object I would...
Find something else to worry about.

The next 12-months will be...
Gone a lot quicker than the last 12 and the 12 before that.

If I ruled the media world I ensure…
That moving forward, all out-of-the-box, blue-sky, 360-degree media-speak will be consigned to the media bin. I'll reach out to you to fry this in your brain wok first. Just a heads-up.

If I could switch places with anyone in the media world it would be...
Mark Thompson at the BBC.

Have your say...
