The UK version of Gizmodo is due to launch this autumn. It will sit alongside Future’s other technology titles, including magazine and website T3 and online technology news site TechRadar.
It will be the ninth international version of the site, with localised versions already available in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, Japan, Australia and Brazil.
Nial Ferguson, group publishing director of Future's technology division, said: "It is a hugely influential brand and one that we are proud to have within our market-leading portfolio.
"Gizmodo UK allows us to speak to a completely new set of tech consumers and to offer our commercial partners even more exciting opportunities."
The Gizmodo UK site will be edited by Kat Hannaford, who was previously a contributing editor for Gizmodo US and a news editor at www.T3.com.
Earlier this month, Future announced its partnership with video search engine Blinkx.com in an effort to expand its digital activity, after print revenues for the six months to 31 March fell by an estimated 10% to 12% year on year.
Gawker Media’s US blog network includes women’s lifestyle site Jezebel, software blog Lifehacker, and video games blog Kotaku.
