Knight appointed commercial content director at ITV

ITV branded entertainment and digital sales director Gary Knight is to take the newly created role of commercial content director.

His remit will include work with the newly-formed client activation team. He will report to Simon Daglish director of multiplatform and partnerships.

ITV is restructuring its commercial and online division as part of the network's five year "transformation plan".

In January ITV announced plans to transform its commercial and online division.

The plans include the creation of a brand new "multi-disciplined sales team" responsible for selling all of ITV's assets across multiple platforms, according to the network. 

Fru Hazlitt, managing director of ITV commercial and online, said: "Our transformation requires us to change how we service both our clients and agencies. We are re-balancing our teams to deliver multiplatform ideas and opportunities as well as trading air time, which clearly remains a valuable part of our business for the foreseeable future.

"This next phase will underpin the drive outlined in January to deliver a new way of working with our clients."

ITV will is also on the hunt for a strategic engagement director who, "will work with the sales team to develop cross platform ideas that deliver each client's marketing objectives."

ITV is also hunting for a new sales director to work alongside Mark Trinder. Both will report to Daglish.

The changes also see the promotion of Ben Allen to trading director, reporting to Kelly Williams, ITV’s Director of TV sales, and Barry Powis to deputy trading director.

Hazlitt said: "Ben has played a pivotal role in negotiating ITV's trading deals in recent years. These new roles, for Ben and the existing senior team, recognise the skills and enthusiasm they possess to drive forward a transformed way of working with our clients.

"The new structure will also offer opportunities for ITV to bring in new talent which will help deliver on ITV's approach of listening and engaging with our customers more effectively across the board."
