Sky is pushing its Christmas programming in today's papers, which themselves prepare readers for festive TV overload with several guides promised at the weekend.

Sky advertises the "world 3D premiere" of Avatar on TV across the papers, as it prepares to screen the film on Christmas Eve.

The broadcaster also offers a preview of new series 'Little Crackers' through a smart phone scanner voucher in The Times and The Metro.

The Daily Mirror trails its free Christmas TV guide tomorrow, as do The Sun and the Daily Mail.

Freeview promises customers won't miss out on Christmas TV with a box that can record programmes.

Tesco takes out an ad in the Daily Mirror to highlight the paper’s supermarket price comparison feature, in which it won out as the cheapest place to buy ingredients for a Christmas dinner.

Lanson Champagne takes out a full page in The Independent telling readers it was voted a ‘best buy’ by consumer product testing brand Which?.

Designer brand Tom Ford takes out two consecutive full page ads in The Guardian to highlight its fragrances for men and women.
