Paper Round (23 July) - Which brands are advertising in the national press?

As schools around the country open their doors for the last time before the summer break, M&S is reminding parents not to leave the new term's uniform til the last moment with full page ads across today's papers.

B&Q encourages a "room refresh" and rival Focus offers "big discounts indoors", both with an ad in the Daily Mail.

Several other papers also carry the ads along with a 50% off deal highlighted by Wickes as the DIY sector hopes to grab parents at home with the kids over the summer.

Tesco pushes several electronics deals, including offers on TVs, laptops, cameras and household appliances with an ad in The Sun. Comet competes with a full page highlighting similar deals a few pages later, followed by Currys with the same idea.

Meanwhile the iPad is now available at PC World, it tells us with ads across several papers. The gadget continues to make headlines with a recent app having to limit users due to its overwhelming response.

Neighbourhood retailer Costcutter advertises deals in the Daily Mail while Aldi advertises its "award winning wines, beers and spirits" with a full-page ad in several papers. The usual Friday supermarket sweep is on across the press highlighting similar deals to those running all week.

Ryanair continues its spat with easyJet, printing quotes from the Daily Telegraph and The Times reporting late flights.

The budget airline asks "why won't Easyjet publish their stats?" in a Daily Telegraph ad, while its retraction and apology for an earlier ad still runs in The Guardian.
