Paper Round (13 July) - Which brands are advertising in the national press?

The holiday season is truly underway with airlines and travel companies filling ad space across all the national papers, while phone and mobile service providers jostle for new business.

Ryanair pushes various summer deals in today’s papers, as it searches for a new PR agency.

The budget airline takes an ad in The Guardian promoting 40% off all fares. An ad in The Independent highlights a one-way flight to Ireland from £10, and it advertises flights to Frankfurt for £10 in The Daily Telegraph.

M&S extends its £5 voucher offer, free when customers spend £250 on travel money, according to an ad in The Times. The Daily Mail continues its designer sunglasses offer and The Sun keeps its "hols from £9.50" offer on its cover.

The Daily Telegraph includes a full-page ad from British Airways, aimed at those looking for a "late escape" as it attempts to put strike action behind it. The paper also includes a quarter page from Expedia promoting its summer deals and a full page from ROL Cruise.

Orange promotes its satnav service with two consecutive ads in The Independent, following its broadband ad being banned by the ASA. Three pushes its MiFi access aimed at iPad owners in The Guardian while promoting its entire service to readers of The Times. O2, meanwhile, takes a full-page ad in The Daily Telegraph to showcase its Palm Pre Plus handset.

Sky’s current campaign aiming to lure BT customers to its full package deal is supported by an ad in the Daily Express, while BT pushes its business contract to readers of The Sun.

A healthy lifestyle is on the campaign agenda for supermarkets today, with Morrisons taking a full-page ad in the Daily Express and The Sun to promote fruit for £1.

The supermarket has ditched celebrity ambassadors from its TV campaign. Meanwhile, Asda is advertising deals on family bikes in the Daily Mail and the Daily Mirror, available through its online shopping service.

The Times continues its promotion of Peter Mandelson’s political memoirs, with a front page lead and extracts from page seven. The paper also includes a cover page promo panel inviting readers to sign up to its website for 30 days for £1, following its official paywall launch at the beginning of the month.

Utilities firm E.ON joins forces with Age UK, promoting the joint venture with an ad in the Daily Express, and Ikea takes double-page strip ads in The Sun and The Daily Telegraph following yesterday’s sale reminder, as the retailer searches for a digital agency.
