Comcast appoints new EMEA ad sales director

Comcast, the US cable operator, has appointed former Fox International executive Nigel Ponder to the new role of executive director of advertising sales across EMEA.

Ponder will be responsible for commercial revenues from international and pan-regional advertisers, and through local sales operations.

Prior to his appointment, Ponder spent eight years as senior account director at Fox International channels in London, in a role in which he represented National Geographic Channel, Sky News and Fox.  

Before that, he served as account manager for Fortune magazine and The Economist Group.

Commenting on the appointment,  Brad Wald, managing director, Comcast International Media Group EMEA, said: " We've had strong growth so far this year in many markets such as UK, Ireland and France, and we look forward to further growth in local, international pan-regional and online sales activities."

CIMG represents Comcast's core programming assets, including E! Entertainment Television, The Style Network and The Golf Channel.
