Harmsworth Quays in London is owned by Daily Mail & General Trust (DMGT) and also prints the Daily Mail.
DMGT plans to move its printing operation from Harmsworth Quays to Thurrock in Essex next year.
It is thought that executives at the London Evening Standard shortlisted just Broxbourne and the Thurrock site as potential locations.
DMGT still owns a 24.9% stake in the Standard, which is majority owned by Alexander Lebedev.
Around 700,000 full-colour copies will be printed at the site each day.
It is unclear how long the contract will run for, but one source said it was long-term.
News International opened its £187m Broxbourne plant in London in 2008. The site currently prints The Sun, The Sunday Times and The Times.
