The new board has been assembled by AOL chief executive Tim Armstrong, who joined the internet giant in April. He will take up the position of chairman.
The board also includes Richard Dalzell, Karen Dykstra, William Hambrecht, Patricia Mitchell, Michael Powell, Fredric Reynolds, James Stengel and Jim Wiatt. It will be AOL's first board as it verges on becoming a stand-alone business after its separation from Time Warner is complete.
Armstrong has drawn on leaders with expertise in the internet, media, entertainment, marketing and finance. Dalzell was senior vice-president and chief information officer of Amazon.com until 2007, while Reynolds was executive vice-president and chief financial officer of CBS Corporation from 2005 to 2009.
Wiatt served as chairman and chief executive of the William Morris Agency from 1999 until 2009, overseeing all areas of the entertainment company, including film, television, music, publishing, theatre, digital, sports marketing, business development, investment and corporate consulting.
