The high-profile Morley, who joined the publisher of The Daily Telegraph in April 2006, left last week. Confirming his departure, TMG said that Morley left "by mutual consent". It is understood he does not have a job to go to.
Morley, who was previously TMG's business development director, headed one of the group's agency hubs working closely with Dave King, TMG executive director, who he reported to.
His role has, in effect, been made redundant following the restructure in which the group appointed Absolute radio commercial director Nick Hewat as its new sales director and the previous sales director, Matthew Watkins, moved to the new role of director of advertising strategy.
Prior to joining TMG, Morley spent eight years at Emap, where he held a variety of roles including FHM's commercial director, Emap Radio's head of agency sales and responsibility for coordinating cross-platform deals and enhancing revenues for company's print and digital sectors.
