Oliver, who played a key role in the launch of Al Jazeera International, will be responsible for overseeing the distribution and marketing for Bloomberg’s five European channels across EMEA.
She joins from IPTV provider Jalipo, where she acted as a consultant for the company in the areas of commercial revenue and distribution.
Oliver was previously commercial director for Al Jazeera International in 2007, when she helped launch the English-language newschannel in 80 million TV households worldwide.
She joined Al Jazeera from CNBC Europe, where she started in 1998 as general counsel, and then went on to become senior vice-president and director of the network. During this time, the channel’s distribution increased to 11 million households within a year.
